This set of three lectures is a presentation, for a Bolivian audience, of the complexity and daily life of a cooperative classroom using Freinet and Institutional Pedagogies. They address the core principles of these pedagogies and classroom life, then, the challenges of organizing collective work and sharing power, responsibilities, and freedoms within the group, and finally, the connections that may exist between an emancipatory pedagogical project, its explicitly political dimension (around the concept of “people”), and its cultural advocacy dimension (around the concept of “common place” and culture in the anthropological sense).
