Hoyerswerda | Frontex

This short film presents the testimonies of four Mozambican migrants about the racially motivated attacks that took place in Saxony in 1991. Their narratives are accompanied by archival footage of the German town displayed on one half of the screen, juxtaposed with drone footage from Frontex on the other. The film creates a dialogue between the memory of racial violence and contemporary border surveillance technologies in Europe.
