The paper focuses on the study of the functioning of the teachers’ association of a primary school in the centre of Athens, where the majority of the student population comes from diverse ethno-cultural backgrounds. It highlights an aspect of the daily school life of this particular school that sheds light on the way teachers perceive their role. Teachers have managed to create a professional community of practice and learning through which they learn in a variety of ways and develop their practice.
