In Chile in 1973, during the final days of Allende’s government, 12-year-old Infante, who lives in a respectable neighborhood, befriends Machuca, a new classmate who lives in a shantytown in Santiago, and experiences with him the traumatic events that led to the junta’s rise to power. Two boys from two worlds, separated by an invisible yet impenetrable wall.
