“Platonos Academy” (2009) Philippos Tsitos

The film explores themes of national identity and otherness through the life of a Greek small shop owner in the neighborhood of Plato’s Academy in Athens. His worldview is disrupted when he discovers his Albanian origin, challenging his prejudices and perceptions of belonging. Combining humor, realism, and social critique, the film addresses nationalism, racism, and the constructed nature of identity in contemporary Greek society.
