Daily life of refugees in Elaionas and the transition to other types of accommodation: A path towards integration?

A thesis presenting the daily life of 6 refugees, long-term residents of the Open Accommodation Facility of Elaiona, a refugee camp near the centre of Athens. The refugees’ narratives show that the shelter was a safe but suffocating place for them. As the structure was closed, it emerges that it was not integration-oriented – the further course of the refugees continued to depend on the process of their asylum claim and the individual strategies they would develop.
