Educational mediators are a relatively new institution in Bulgaria, which has emerged as a result of a complex evolution, after numerous successful and maybe less successful attempts

School 106

The reputation of the 106th school is the product of long-term efforts. School 106 took a different path, becoming as open as possible to students from all backgrounds and neighborhoods of Sofia, of all ages and with different educational needs, for example students on the autism spectrum.

School 66

The school 66 is in a district that used to be on the periphery of Sofia, but is more or less middle class one now. The residents are ethnic Bulgarians, Roma, Ukrainian and other refugees. It probably is the most ethnically diverse among the middle class Sofia neighborhoods.

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, an impressive number of refugees has arrived in Bulgaria. According to the IOM, there are 3,577,870 of them, and given that the country’s population in 2023 is 6,445,481 people, the refugees were more than half of the overall population.
