The reputation of the 106th school is the product of long-term efforts. School 106 took a different path, becoming as open as possible to students from all backgrounds and neighborhoods of Sofia, of all ages and with different educational needs, for example students on the autism spectrum.

The school 66 is in a district that used to be on the periphery of Sofia, but is more or less middle class one now. The residents are ethnic Bulgarians, Roma, Ukrainian and other refugees. It probably is the most ethnically diverse among the middle class Sofia neighborhoods.
