paloma, Encyclopedia of Migrants

Paloma Fernández Sobrino and the Rennes-based association L’Âge de la Tortue are the initiators of The Encyclopedia of Migrants, a magnificent collection of letters and photographs authored by the migrants themselves (with support for translation and photography). Above all, it shows that being in exile, in migration, is not only about bringing suffering or problems, but also—quite simply—a life, lives, desires, ideas, creations. A wealth that is documented through a project spanning the Atlantic coast of Europe, from Gibraltar to Portugal, Spain, and France, and which resonates with many of the testimonies and initiatives we collect and present.
